Should you automate this task?
Answer a few questions and get a straight read: automate it, pilot it, augment it, or leave it. About a minute.
MethodologyHow the verdict works▾
This is a deterministic decision model, not an AI. It first estimates the time the task costs you per year: how often it happens, multiplied by how long it takes one person, multiplied by how many people are involved. Then it weighs three things that decide how cleanly a task automates: whether it follows set rules or needs human judgment, whether the data already lives in your systems, and whether doing it by hand tends to cause errors.
Those inputs map to one of four verdicts. High-volume, rules-based, already-digital work points to automate it. Judgment-heavy work points to augment it: automate the busywork, keep the human decision. Promising but unproven cases get worth a pilot. Low-volume tasks get leave it for now. The cost figure applies an assumed $50 per hour loaded rate to your own hours.
This is a directional read to help you decide where to start, not a formal audit. The right path depends on your specific systems and constraints.
